The countries of the world declared the need to increase societal participation in resolving this crisis, which is one of the most important goals of the first Youth Employment Forum in the Delta that it seeks to achieve.

The global economic situation witnessed an increase in the rates of youth employment crisis in various countries of the world, affected by the new challenges that led to an increase in the separation of youth from the labor market.

The United Nations organized many activities that would help young people and qualify them for the global labor market with the new updates.

These activities aim to develop policies and programs that regulate the labor market, help develop entrepreneurship, and the impact of social protection that affects supply and demand rates, and the quantity and quality of employment.

The International Labor Organization also announced a program that achieves social justice and the principle of complementary, indivisible and mutually supportive goals.

These mechanisms help policy coherence and coordination at the national and global levels to address the youth employment crisis.

Civil organizations found a major shortcoming in the bridges between youth and organizations and the limited participation of youth in shaping their present and future.

International Labor Conference

The International Labor Organization was established in 1919 in Geneva, Switzerland, after World War I, and was concerned with determining the shape of the employment situation in the world.

The organization relied on a basic constitutional pillar, which is based on a just peace that is based on achieving social justice.

The International Labor Organization has identified several binding mechanisms for the industrial community and the labor market, such as limiting working hours to 8 hours, in addition to a set of policies related to workplace policy and safety.

Egypt's participation in the International Labor Conference

Egypt participates continuously and effectively in the work of the International Labor Conference.

Egypt's last participation came in the 110th session of the conference, which was held at the United Nations headquarters and the International Labor Organization building in Geneva, Switzerland.

In addition to Egypt, 187 member states of the International Labor Organization participated, with representation from the government sector, the business sector, and workers, during the period from May 29 to June 11, 2022.

Mohamed Saafan, Minister of Manpower, headed the Egyptian delegation participating in the conference, and stressed Egypt's interest in improving the conditions of youth and enhancing their employment opportunities.

The conference called for providing new ways to help employ youth and confront the global job crisis that affects 75 million young people.

Employment forums are a new hope for young people

The COVID-19 pandemic caused significant contractions in global economic activity, and just as the world began a new economic boom, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict began.

The impact of this conflict extended on many levels and posed great challenges for companies and institutions after the high inflation rates.
